Information:
Hemera is the Greek Goddess of the Day, and the daughter of Nyx, the Goddess of Night, one of the original children that this all-powerful being had. Though she is her daughter, Hemera is also her mother's opposite.
Hemera makes the journey from their home, Tartarus, just as her mother has gotten back, and in passing is when, and only when, they are able for eons to speak, and to greet, as the humans down below them must have times; the Day (Hemera), and the Night (her mother, Nyx), and the short time between both Dusk and Dawn is when one comes home from the heavens and the other begins their journey from home to higher places once again. One would think this would mean Hemera and Nyx aren't very close... however, that is not so.
Time is different from mortals for them.
But in these times, the Goddess [Nyx, who is] Night, who is dark but elegant and caring... and Day (Hemera) who is bright for all and a source of equal caring and kindness, do so talk briefly and love one another as much as any mother would love [her] children; all are special, all have purpose and they are hers forever, no matter what shall become of each one.
And in this moment [the other] loves and speaks freely with she, the Night, and her [the Day] loves her as much as any [daughter] who would love such a parent even if their parting is quick and their time of conversation but a fleeting passing from this time between their duties; times in which mortals feel disdain and wait for one to pass into the other, she [Night] greets her [Day], and the two express their feelings however briefly.
And that is why Day will always get up early, for to her to see the Night is the most important thing of all, only after waking and watching those around her (her kin), whom she eternally loves, despite disputes and the like. This is because, for her [Day] the quintessence [likeness Day wishes to be] is she who gave her and the rest of those around her beyond the bronze gates [of Tartarus] life, and she who so caring stops to ask her, 'how is it that you are?' (her feelings), in those fleeting moments, between Dusk and Dawn, when she, the night, meets her, the Day.
